MATCH REPORT : CHELMSFORD CITY vs HEMEL HEMPSTEAD TOWN

Four second-half goals were required to blow away a strong Hemel Hempstead side.

Four late goals from Michael Cheek, Sawyer and a brace from Rohdell Gordon seperated Chelmsford and Hertfordshire based Hemel.

Hemel had the first chance to score early on when a corner taken by Jodan Parkes evaded everyone in the box, no-one was able to get a touch and went out for a goal-kick.

Chelmsford almost had a goal to the good after Ward was tripped by Diara. The freekick was punted into the box by Leon Redwood but Clarets captain Mark Hughes headed over.

Hemel had yet another chance when striker Matthew Saunders forced Clarets loanee keeper into a dramatic diving save.

Chelmsford were the first to score however it was in the second half. Robert Girdlestone floated in a cross for Michael Cheek to control finely and tuck away to put City 1-up.

Ten minutes later the Clarets were 2-0 up after some individual brilliance by Rohdell Gordon saw him burst into the box and tuck home a shot that Hemel Keeper Laurie Walker had no chance in stopping.

Hemel almost pulled one back when Jamal Lowe fired a shot from point-blank which Watkins blocked.

It was then three as the Chelmsford faithful saw Lee Sawyer score only his second goal in City colours. Rohdell Gordon burst through the Hemel defence, squared to winger Joe Ward who in turn sprayed the ball to Lee Sawyer who calmly fired home.

The three points were then signed, sealed and delivered with three-minutes to go as Jason Williams scored his second of the day after striking from the edge of the box to confirm back to back Conference South wins for the Clarets.
