MATCH PREVIEW: MACCLESFIELD TOWN vs ALFRETON TOWN

Macclesfield town will go into this weekend’s match with Alfreton, hoping 3 points would move them into a play-off place.

The silkmen should not underestimate the Vanarama conference strugglers as they look to kick start their season at the Moss Rose.

Alfreton’s record away from home should give Macclesfield confidence as they have only won 2 games and lost 8 out of 10.

Macclesfield Town welcome back club captain Paul Turnbull back from suspension, while they also could have Chris Holroyd available back from injury after they both missed the 0-0 draw against Welling United last weekend.

The only main casualty for the silkmen is young midfielder Paul Lewis who is still a few weeks away from being match fit, following fracturing his collarbone in the FA cup match at Wrexham.

Alfreton Town hope to include new signings Cliff Byrne who joined them non contract this week and also 21 year old goal keeper Sam Johnson who joined them from Port Vale on a month’s loan.

Alfreton hope to recall striker Karl Hawley from a 3 match suspension, while defender Lathaniel Rowe-Turner misses the game through a one game suspension

Macclesfield Have met Alfreton on 7 different occasions in their history, first match was back in 1966 where Macclesfield ran out 2-1 winners in a qualifying match of the fa cup. The other 6 occasions have been over the last 10 years, playing 4 times in the league and 2 in the fa cup.
